A quick note on Maui bed and breakfasts
As you may have read in my informative Maui accommodation guide, there are strict rules in place to qualify for short-term rental in Maui. The following set of rules apply specifically to bed and breakfasts:
So, basically, the main difference between a short-term rental and a bed and breakfast in Maui is that, at a bed and breakfast, the owner lives onsite.
Just like with short-term rentals, there’s a cap on the number of Maui B&Bs by region.
My selection of bed and breakfasts in Maui
This is not just a round-up of Maui bed and breakfast accommodations but a selection based on my personal wish list. Some popular options, the Iao Valley Inn and What a Wonderful World bed and breakfasts to name a few, didn’t make the selection. I’m staying true to my mission of only including the top choices for discerning travelers: updated and with modern island flair.
Ironically – and contrary to what the name suggests – permitted Maui bed and breakfasts aren’t required to serve breakfast. In fact, most don’t. So, plan accordingly by stocking up on breakfast items or researching the options nearby. For every Maui bed and breakfast in this list, I have added what to expect in terms of breakfast.
Every item in this list links out to the corresponding listing on VRBO, Booking.com, or Airbnb. Simply read through the details, check the reviews, and set your preferred dates to get an exact breakdown of the costs. If you still like what you see, you can go ahead and make your online booking.
Now, without further ado, here’s my personal selection of the best Maui bed and breakfasts.
